Purpose

The Elipto Jogger  features an innovative two-piece movable handle that allows parents to move their arms back and forth naturally while pushing the stroller. This prevents injuries caused by improper running positions and helps parents achieve a better workout while enjoying family time. When the jog is over, the handles fold inward to form a conventional handle system so the stroller can be used at other times.

Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Megan B. Gardetto of Escondido, CA has created an innovative two-piece movable handle that allows for natural back and forth arm movement while pushing the stroller.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Megan had an amazing workout routine at a gym. However, that all changed with the shutdown and fear of contracting the virus. And so, she began running in her neighborhood for exercise. While that helped with her cardio, she was missing the arm and full body strength and endurance workout she was used to. Her arms were not being worked to her satisfaction. She then started power walking with weights. It was a wonderful solution, and she did it daily. Flash forward nine months later with a new baby. Megan was working on losing the pregnancy weight and it really bothered her that she could not use her weights when walking and pushing a stroller. She could not do anything with her arms while running with the stroller either. In turn, she was inspired to develop the Elipto Jogger!

The invention promotes natural running or jogging form. This prevents injuries caused by improper running positions and helps parents achieve a better workout while enjoying family time. When the jog is over, the handles fold inward to form a conventional handle system so the stroller can be used at other times.
